An emerging trend in business finance is to invest with specific environmental and social objectives in mind. This practice of "impact investing" is important for entrepreneurs founding or managing mission-driven business to understand. Impact investors are often willing to finance companies that do not appeal to conventional funders. Impact investors may also offer more flexible terms and their return expectations may be lower.
