J. Patrick Hackney joined The Arc of Larimer County in June 2019. Prior to coming to the Arc of Larimer County, Patrick worked at Disability Law Colorado as the Community Integration Team Leader. Before moving to Colorado in 2017, Patrick served in several positions, including Legal Director, at the Alabama Disabilities Advocacy Program (“ADAP”). While at Disability Law Colorado and ADAP, Patrick represented clients with disabilities on a variety of issues, including Medicaid waivers, community integration, and the American with Disabilities Act. As a strong advocate of educating persons about their rights, Patrick has conducted numerous in person trainings on subjects such as alternatives to guardianship, services available through a Medicaid waiver, accessing the voting process, and reasonable accommodations in employment. Patrick received a Bachelor of Arts from Samford University in 1994 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1998. Outside of work, Patrick enjoys family road trips, reading, and playing golf.
